I AM DISCONTINUING USE OF TUMBLR. If you wish to keep up with my filmmaking and personal life, then please refer to this new page.

Yep, I said it.

F Tumblr.

I used to love Tumblr. I really did. And not in an “I’m addicted to scrolling and reblogging” way. I was posting all original content, all the time. It got me some recognition. It got me nominated for some film magazine awards. It got me thousands of followers. That’s cool. But Tumblr is different, I’m different, and the whole scope of how I want to share with the world is a little different.

I no longer want to be bogged down by the bullshit that people are posting on a regular basis. I no longer want it to influence me, and I no longer want to see it. When I signed up for Tumblr, I was not looking for another social network. This site has changed, and my purpose in being here was lost with that change.

So, adios!

I may still resume my other page “Photoventures”, just as a means to post various pictures here and there, but that’s about it.

The journey I set out on when I created “Going Somewhere” has been completed. I’ve been in Los Angeles for a year, so you can no longer trace my move. The new journey has begun, and is in effect.

Read into Kevin’s Infinite Abyss. Click on the link. It’s not just film stuff. And it’s never meaningless bullshit. Or maybe it is. But it definitely isn’t random photos of naked girls, or .gifs of Bradley Cooper speaking french.

Dinner Guests

I have been posting a lot of answers to questions and movie opinions… but not much about my actual film which is still in post-production.

Dinner Guests is coming along very nicely. Everything is tying together very well, and it’s pretty damn close to how I originally imagined it. I’m glad I got this film out of the way. I learned a lot. I grow and evolve as a filmmaker with each film I make.

This is definitely the best thing I’ve ever made (which isn’t exactly saying very much). This was also the most professional work I’ve ever done (also not making much of a statement).

I’m almost ready for post-production to enter the next stage.

I’ve been browsing festival listings for when I think the movie will be ready. I’m pretty excited to get everything prepped to be sent off and see if we can get it accepted into anything.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped me make this short film happen. Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in it and supported me along the way, as well. I dedicate the film to all of you, Tumblr followers.

Outstanding Progress

I’ve gone through maybe… only 15% of the pieces of dialog I’ve written over the past several years. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything, but quite the contrary. I just have a shit ton of dialog accumulated. So today I wrote a bunch of scenes here and there. The main one I wrote is the possible opening sequence. It takes place at the main character’s job. The opening scene is five pages long. But that’s just the outline of the scene and all dialog taking place during it. So it may end up becoming six, possibly seven pages. There’s a long shot that takes place over three of the five pages. One page = one minute of screen time. So that would be a three minute long shot. And by rewriting the scene, only to give it more detail and retouch some stuff, it will likely get longer. If the scene gets longer, the shot will get longer. That will be fun to shoot.

It’s kind of sad how much of my own life I’m putting into this story. I kind of like it that way because interesting things have happened in my life. I am not writing these characters to be like me in any way. Just (some of) the events occurring, and their surroundings. Anyway, I’m very happy with tonight’s work. Lots of progress.

As I was writing, I caught the second half of this movie called Undead or Alive.

It’s a western zombie movie starring Chris Kattan. Quite possibly the best movie ever made.

Maybe not, but I think Chris Kattan is hilarious.

I told myself I wouldn’t go to bed any later than 5:00 am. It’s not 6:24 am. I was on a roll writing and I didn’t want to interrupt. But now that I finished the opening scene, I’m done for the night.

Today I have class, then I’m gonna keep working on the script. Ruddfest pt. 2 might be happening, which would be awesome.

My viewfinder arrived!
I can certainly see how it will be helpful in the future. I love all of the settings. It even has an anamorphic setting so if I do ever want to crop to anamorphic I can see it before doing so. It’s pretty fun to fool around with this thing, and for $100 I’d say it’s definitely worth it.

Update On Some Stuff

I don’t know if I’ll ever see that mouse thing again…

There are no signs of escape from the closet, but who knows? Maybe it gave up, or perhaps it found another way out and is deciding to just steer clear of my room for the remainder of its stay in the Chateau De Michaluk. Either way, I’m fine with it. That thing was very annoying and I just want it gone.

I think the thing that I am most afraid of if it did escape is if it took a bunch of shits on my bed (I haven’t checked yet) just to spite me.

This mouse has made me paranoid. Even the slightest tingle on my foot feels like the thing is rubbing against me.

Anyway, I just want to thank you all. Thank you for following me, and thank you to those who recommended me to the filmmaker directory. I hope you don’t regret it.

If you haven’t recommended me, but think you might want to, then you can by clicking this link:

If you do decide to recommend me, I would greatly appreciate it. By me being in the directory, I get more exposure. And by having exposure, people know who I am. And of course, trying to trek through the entertainment industry, I want people to know who I am so they can see my works. It would help me, and I’d be forever appreciative.
