We're only $340 away!

There are 3000 of you, followers. If 340 of you donate ONE DOLLAR, I’ll get this film made.

Want to know what I’m doing?

Well… even if you don’t want to know, I’m telling you!

At this exact moment in time? I am sitting in a Coffee Bean. I just finished my homework for the evening, and am weighing my options of what I can do next. I can either go home and do nothing, or I can sit here and write. I haven’t written in several weeks. It’s a sucky feeling. I feel worthless. I feel like scum. Who am I kidding? I don’t feel like either of those things, but it does suck. Frankly, I’ve been very busy. I’ve been working plenty of shoots, and playing host to an array of people. Again I lied, I’ve only been playing host to my brother. But that took a lot of effort! We went on many adventures.

The past couple of weeks has been filled with travelling. I went to Bakersfield, San Diego, and Loma Linda, near San Bernardino.

My brother left this morning, and now it’s back to reality.

I have my Script Analysis class this evening, which I’m not the biggest fan of due to the onslaught of papers I have to write.

This weekend I’m gaffing a music video directed by Andrew Furtado. Guaranteed fun, especially since the video consists of a fat comedian who wants to be a Kardashian.

Laura, my beautiful, wonderful girlfriend, arrives on Tuesday. It’s been a couple of months since I last saw her, and it’ll be her first time in L.A., so we’ll have a lot of fun adventures.

Once she leaves, I’ll be working two more shoots, then moving out of my place and heading out east for the summer.

One month to go. I’m excited at the prospect of being back for more than a week or two. I do love Los Angeles, and am certainly looking forward to returning in the fall, but there’s no place like home.

I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I already have some plans unfolding for the summer.

Those plans include:

DPing a short film directed by Shaheer Lanier, written by Jake Levine.

Directing an excerpted screen test from my feature script.

Possibly directing/shooting a few music videos.

Who knows? I’m sure there’s more than that.

Anyway, that’s all for now.

My Sekonic light meter should be arriving at Film Tools any day now.

On that note: Any DP’s or Gaffers out there who want a Sekonic light meter, buy it from Film Tools. If you are a student, you can get a 30% discount. It might only be for in-store purchases, so this might be exclusive to SoCal residents. They are located in Burbank.

tkfcomedy:

I’m working on a non-fiction segment about the New Beverly Cinema (@newbeverly) and it’s looking fantastic.  Kevin Michaluk is shooting it and this is a still shot from the video.

More to come on the New Bev project. Andrew Furtado and I have been filming a good amount of material on the place, including various interviews with staff and frequenters. That’s all for now.
